Gratitude Gems: The Last Camping Trip of the Season

As this post is published, Tavis and I will be packing up our camping gear for the last time this year and heading home from a great weekend in Jasper.  Every year we go out there on the long weekend and enjoy games and hikes and campfires and happy hours and lots of other things with my family and long-time family friends.  It’s always a good time.

But it also usually feels bittersweet because winter is right around the corner.  We’ve been doing this same trip since as long as I can remember, and there was even one time we woke up to snow having collapsed the tarp out front of the tent trailer!  That’s camping in the mountains in September for you.

Here’s hoping this weekend was like almost all the others in years passed: more sun than rain, plenty of games, and enough campfires to keep my hair smelling like smoke for weeks!

I sure love camping…
