Some readers of this little ol’ blog may have noticed that this year I set myself a secret goal. No, this wasn’t just because I couldn’t figure out a 32nd goal for myself this year and decided to cop out and try to make it more exciting than it really was. It also wasn’t because I like keeping secrets because, believe you me, I really don’t. And I’m bad at it.
No, the reason this goal was secret was because, even with my husband’s help, I wasn’t sure I could achieve it this year and I didn’t want to advertise our intentions prematurely lest things didn’t work out in our favour.
Well, I’m happy to say that things have indeed worked out because my hubby and I are pregnant!
Yes we’ve been working feverishly on this goal, something many people who have been asking incessantly when we’ll be having kids will be happy to hear, I’m sure. (As an aside, you do know that every time you ask a couple when they’ll be having kids or if they’re trying yet that you’re asking about their sex life, right? Faux pas people, faux pas.)
Our little belly fruit seems to be ripening according to schedule, so if all continues to go well we’ll get to meet the little guy or gal in early April.
Needless to say, we are incredibly thrilled to be starting a family, and we look forward to the many necessary, and unnecessary, bits of advice we expect to receive from family and friends and strangers! In all honesty though, bring it on… we really can’t get enough information!
The next few months are going to be very exciting!
