Gratitude Gems: 13 Months Off

Welcome to Gratitude Gems, where I show a little appreciation for the good things in my life!

I am extremely grateful today, as today marks the first of many Mondays where I don’t have to go to work!  As of Friday last week, I am officially off work due to pregnancy!  My maternity leave will start in about a month, which means that in total, I’m going to be off work for the next 13 months!

I have never been more happy to be pregnant!

Some people find joy and fulfillment in their day-to-day work.  Some people really thrive in the workforce and become workaholics, they apparently love their job so much.  Weirdos, am I right?  I’m definitely not one of those people.  In fact, I think I’d do just fine without having to work for a living.  I’ve informed my hubby of this fact, but for some reason he’s not super interested in my sitting at home doing nothing while he shoulders the burden of making all our money.  So until we win the lottery and can make all of my lazy dreams come true, I’ll have to settle for having a brief hiatus over the next year!

I’ve been informed (many, many times) that once baby arrives I’ll be run off my feet, so I think I’ll take the next few weeks to  relax.  Now I better go, because I have a long list of things to contemplate doing today and I might need to take a nap first.

  1. Enjoy the time off 🙂 In my experience, you don’t start running around until they get mobile, but you’ll still be exhausted from the lack of sleep before then.

    • I used the term to imply that I’ll be busy, not that my baby will be a genius who learns to walk within weeks. Though I wouldn’t count that completely out… 😛 Thanks for the comment!
